Jakki Opollo has been a nurse for 14 years. She currently serves as the Director of Professional Practice & Recherche en sciences infirmières au Parkland santé & Hospital System. Her clinical expertise is in Cardiovascular Intensive Care and Progressive Care. Opollo holds the degrees of Doctor of Philosophy in Nursing, Master of Science in Nursing Administration from the University of Texas at Arlington (UTA) and Master of Public Health Policy and Management from the University of North Texas Health Sciences Center (UNTHSC), BSN from UTA and ADN from Brookhaven Community College. Opollo is committed to community action geared towards protecting vulnerable populations globally. She possesses a unique worldview and international experience that is highly desirable in today’s increasingly global community. Her passion for the field of healthcare and its worldwide effects is exemplified by her travels to Kenya, Rwanda, Uganda, South Africa and Jamaica. Her research interest area is centered on HIV/AIDS stigma and nursing positive practice environments. Her commitment lies in energizing, engaging, and empowering nurses to achieve the highest levels of excellence.
